It is a reminder that we are called to be a tangible expression of Christ’s love and compassion in the world. It also reminds me of my mother’s words to me as a child: “Remember, Aisha, you may be ... Value them as a person: This is a critical “how” step. Recognize that each individual is a unique creation who has a story and a divine purpose. Reminding yourself that this person has value because of who they are in and of themselves makes meeting new people go much more smoothly.
